2-Hour Extended Yoga Practice

Do you ever feel like your yoga class ends too soon?  Like you’re about to enter savasana, and you find yourself thinking, “Wow, that went so fast!”  Well, I have often felt the same way as a teacher and a student.

Join Jeanne for an extended 2-hour yoga practice.  In this class we will be able to move through many elements of a yoga practice, without feeling rushed! We will start with a meditation, then move into some gentle breathing exercises, followed by a movement practice, ending with some optional chanting, more meditation and finishing with a long savasana.  Ahhhhh, what luxury.

Singing Meditation

Singing Meditation

Meditation comes in many forms.  But, for me, singing for meditation has been the most effective way to quiet the mind, release emotions and find a sense of calm.

Singing is a powerful tool for transformation. It encourages concentration, rhythmic breath and the release of authentic, healing sound.

Singing Meditation is different from a formal kirtan practice, which usually has instruments and a call-and-response element. This is a opportunity to simply sing your heart out and feel the voice reverberate in the body and in the room. Singing in a group magnifies the power of the voice and can support the release of many positive chemicals in the brain to improve mood. A regular singing practice may also release tension in the neck, shoulders and throat, which are common areas of discomfort.  This class is an opportunity to find a new aspect of your healing practice, singing for meditation and well-being.

Smiles, laughter, conquering fear, and reduced stress are some of the side effects of a regular singing practice. No experience necessary. Come with open minds, hearts, ears and voices.

Restore, Reconnect, Rejuvenate

Ahhhh, Fall.  The season of letting go, cooling off and heading into the cold and dark of winter.  This can be a lovely and refreshing time of year for some, but can also be a time where we have difficulty.  The food, smells, family gatherings and hibernation can present challenges for our energy and our spirit, and may conjure some feelings of sadness and longing for the lighter days.  It is during these times where we can gather in community, find some grounding and warming movement, all the while sharing stories and nutritious food.  Take a day to pause and reflect on the upcoming season, and transition into the darkness with clarity and ease.

The yoga practices and activities are designed to (1) support the restoration of your nervous system, calming the mind and body; (2) to facilitate a reconnection with yourself before the darkness of winter and the harried holiday season; and (3) to rejuvenate your spirit so that you can be more aware and present in your life.

The retreat will include two yoga classes (one active practice in the morning and a restorative practice in the afternoon), meditation, nutritious and delicious lunch, optional hike and time to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Please contact Gina (glangbehn06@gmail.com) or Jeanne (jeanne@yogajeanne.com) to register. We cannot wait to share the day with you!

Cost: $129

New Moon Practice with Jeanne & Alicia

New moons are a time of beginning.  They are a perfect time to reflect on habits, patterns and beliefs and reflect on their contribution in your life.  If you would like to shed something that is no longer of service to you, the new moon is the time to commit to make the change.  You can commit to making a fresh start by meditating, moving or writing.  Finding a way to connect to your inner truth, so that you move forward in a way that is most authentic, and not one that is built from old patterning.

Join Jeanne & Alicia for this New Moon yoga class.  It will be a Yin style yoga class, with healing music to vibrate out the old, stuck energy and move in the new, fresh intention.

Singing Meditation
Apr

1:00 PM13:00

Singing Meditation

Singing is a powerful tool for transformation. It can make a gloomy day brighter by encouraging rhythmic breath and the release of authentic, healing sound.

Singing Meditation is different from a formal kirtan practice, which usually has a call-and-response element. This is a opportunity to simply sing your heart out and feel the voice reverberate in the body and in the room. Singing in a group magnifies the power of the voice and can feel fun and support the release of many positive chemicals in the brain to improve mood. This class is an opportunity to find a new aspect of your yoga practice, singing for meditation and healing.

Smiles, laughter, conquering fear, and reduced stress are some of the side effects of a regular singing practice. No experience necessary. Come with open minds, hearts, ears and voices.

Virtual Meditation Challenge

Virtual Meditation Challenge

You've heard that meditation is good for you. It's one of those things you know you should do.

Even Western medicine is touting the benefits of it and recommending it for overall health.

This is why we are devoting 6 weeks to the theme of meditation -- how to get started, build the habit and set realistic goals.

The biggest roadblocks to starting a new habit are not having accountability and support. By joining the IAY Meditation Challenge for this 6-weeks, you will have both.

Here's how it works works. Participation in the 6-week challenge will include the following:

+ YouTube Live meditation broadcast, Monday – Friday, starting at 6:30am PST, led by Jeanne and Michelle. If you cannot make the time, the videos will be archived so that you can watch any time of day
+ 6 weekly emails, which will include video demonstrations, guided audio meditations, a written Meditation Manual and links to various resources to support your growing practice
+ 6 weekly group meditation classes at the It’s All Yoga studio, Sundays from 8-8:30 am, led by Ellen

Each week will have a different theme, so that you can try on many different types of meditation, including mindfulness, walking, mantra, and more!

There’s not one right way to meditation, so join the challenge to find the path into this transformative practice.

Since the meditation challenge is mostly virtual, you can practice anywhere, anytime and in any fashion. We’ll give you tips along the way, so you begin to design a personal practice that suits your unique lifestyle.

Sign up anytime through April 1st , and you will receive all 6-weeks of content.
